As the head of the web development department I was responsible for building this department from scratch, including the hiring of staff, the selection of technologies and the design of workflows.
I have degrees in management and law, and I have gained experience of leading teams in sectors other than IT.
My management style is open and democratic, and my aim is to create a working environment in which everyone has a voice, and where each team member feels they can realise their potential. I believe that the more you trust your staff and give them the freedom to innovate, the more cohesive and effective are the teams that they form.
I also encourage my colleagues to build up good professional and personal relationships by working together within the department, and socialising outside it.
I was evaluated by a Business School and this report gives a broad assessment of my character.
